I have insurance why do I need CampusMD?

Our Doctors treat hundreds of common illnesses that need attention but not an in-person visit. Examples include:

Who are the Doctors?

Doctors belong to the Online Care Group, a nationwide network of Board-certified, US-trained, licensed and credentialed physicians who use the American Well online platform to provide care. They typically have 10-15 years of experience. Most are internists, primary care physicians and emergency medicine physicians.

When are CampusMD Doctors Available?

Doctors are available 24/7/365.

Can I choose my own Doctor?

Absolutely. When you log in and select the state where you currently reside, you can read the physicians' bios and practice profiles before you choose. You can see the same Doctor every time or try someone new. The choice is always yours.

What is the prescription policy?

We take prescriptions extremely seriously. Our Doctors prescribe at their discretion based on medical necessity and the laws governing prescriptions in your state. If you receive a prescription, the Doctor will call it in to the pharmacy of your choice. A consultation does not guarantee a prescription, and we never prescribe controlled substances.

Are my records secure?

Yes. The American Well platform is private and HIPAA compliant, so you can feel confident that all consultations and records are secure.

Who is American Well?

American Well is a leading online healthcare company that powers our portal and physician network. We have partnered with them to give our student members the best technology and Doctor care. In addition to their partnership with us, American Well works with leading insurers and companies to provide online care to millions of people.

How are the Doctors trained for online care?

How much does it cost?

$18 a month or $197 a year, which saves you $19.

When should I use CampusMD?

Use CampusMD whenever you:

• Feel ill (non-emergencies)
• Have a medical question
• Need care when the health center is closed
• Are too busy to wait for an appointment
• Aren't sure you need an in-person visit
• Need a second opinion
• Have a personal medical issue you'd rather not discuss at the health center
• Are out-of-network on your or your parents' insurance plan
• Want to establish a Doctor relationship away from home
• Travel anywhere in the country

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your monthly subscription at any time by calling us at 800-259-7214 or emailing customerservice@campusmd.net. Cancellation is effective one full month from your start date, so you can continue to access a doctor until then. (EX: If you enrolled on November 10, your subscription ends on December 9.)
